Speedo1968
I am vegan so dairy products are out. I do not use a yogurt maker, am lucky enough to have a small garden where I can place the yogurt mixture to warm. So far I have good success with soy milk ( exception is Sang Sang which has a high water content ). Setting times with soy take between 3 - 5 hours depending how I warm the mixture. This can be outside with jars covered by a bowl or, inside by placing the jars in warm water and covering or even using the left over heat in a rice cooker. Soy yogurt can be quite firm and silky in taste / texture. I am looking to make yogurt from other milks such as almond, walnut, pistachio, coconut etc. So far some success with almond. Can any one give advice on suitable alternatives that work and the best way to produce a good yogurt ?
