Tat Revealed Their Detailed Statistics For Tourist Visitors To Krabi In 2006

The Tourism Authority of Thailand have disclosed to Andaman News the numbers of visitors to Krabi for 2006, showing about 1.73 million people, a 69% increase on 2005, just after the tsunami, but still 3.5% less than 2004, mainly before the tsunami. They broke them down to about 940,000 foreigners which was a good 152% more than 2005, but 6% less than 2004, while 792,000 Thais came which was 21% more than 2005 and almost the same as 2004. The average length of stay was 4 days, up from 3.3 in 2005 but still less than 4.3 in 2004. Their average expenditure was 3146 baht, 28% up from 2005, and a reasonable 20% more than 2004. The total revenue was estimated at 19.8 billion baht, a good 168% increase from 2005, and 2.6% more than 2004. These estimate figures are mainly based on 306 registered hotels who reported figures to the TAT, with a total of 10,962 rooms, which is about the same as 2004 and average occupancy of 52%, 26% more than 2005 and 4% more than 2004.
