I've been using the aforementioned Otto filter coffee machine for 6 years now. I think the current price is around 290 THB.  My coffee of choice is Boncafe morning blend at around 115 THB for 250g. 2 mugs and I'm good to go.

I take Boncafe morning blend , too. i bought 3 packs yesterday at Makro Kabin Buri : 100 bahts

ps: 100 bahts each, not 3 packs for 100 bahts ????

Did you buy the coffee with the brownish coloured package? That one is coffee mixed with chicory and it will not smell like coffee. I noticed it was selling for 59 baht.

I opened one of mine, the reddish coloured package arabica pur expresso and that heady fresh ground coffee aroma wafted out.

I bought the black one Delices Casino Pure Arabica ( soft pack which normally is 255 Baht0 at 79 baht, and another black vacuum pack Pur Arabica at 79 Baht

You mean the top one is the one with chicory?

I invested in an Unold machine that has a grinder and is a drip machine. So I put in roasted beans and press a button, out comes coffee. I'd think that would be cheaper than pre-ground? It certainly tastes better.

Sorry, I dont know, when I looked on casino website it is categorised under coffee/chicory.

I corrected my previous post.

It was selling in Pattaya at 79 Baht, and i looked on the Casino website, which says 100% arabica.

There was one kind that was selling at 69 Baht, but I forget which one.

The red pur arabica expresso was selling at 110 Baht for 2 packs, but I think 79 for 1 pack

I hear Chicory has been known to keep you calm, relaxed and your sausage soft.

wrong, it's 114 thb / pack

The price does fluctuate. I don't shop in Makro however I occasionally find it as low as 105 THB in Big C. Naturally, when I do I grab a few packs!

It seems that the OP knows everything better, gets boring.

He knew that the Casino Pur Arabica Expresso was not sold at 110 Baht for 2 packs, which I already have proven to be wrong, and he also knew that @Aforek didn't pay 100 Baht for his morning blend at Makro, which I again have to prove he is the only one wrong all the time.

I usually use my aeropress now for a cleaner taste but the French press still comes out for some of the beans I buy.

With the (possibly not v good) ground coffee I can get round here, aeropress coffee (with the metal filter disk) always tastes better than french press.

Got some casino coffee today at Pattaya Klang Big C. Price is confirmed, 79B for 250 grams, or the double pack of expresso, 2x250g, for 110 baht.

Interesting that they put the Buddy Dean instant with the ground coffee, I wondered why I couldn't find it. Good instant coffee for 90 baht 200g

I ordered some Redcliffe beans just recently, but I was a bit disappointed. There is no date stamp on the packet and there was little aroma when I opened the packet or when I ground the beans. It is clearly Arabica, but the taste is unremarkable.

I avoid that brand too.  Average quality but my problem was I paid for the beans and delivery but they never came.  I emailed a couple of times but no response.  Got onto Facebook and it woke them up!  They don't get a repeat order!

I also noticed and bought a few bags of their organic fair trade coffee and the Peruvian Arabica, both marked down to 79 baht.  However, I think what is happening is that they are discontinuing the Casino brand of coffee and this is a final sale price.

I guess I was wrong. I went to Big C yesterday and saw they have restocked and changed the price on the newer coffee to its regular price.

Ground coffee should never be bought, its' a third rate experience.

Cofffee always has to be freshly ground from beans. And I'm afraid it's a you get what you pay for scenario with coffee.

Mandailing Estate Coffee costs a lot because it is many times better than Casino supermarket coffee.

Same with Cafe Ronn from Thailand.

If you’re in Bangkok, you can get 12x 250gm packs of coffee beans for 1530 baht delivered to your home = 127.5 bht per pack, for good quality beans from Bluekoff - they have different roast levels available. The A5 is an Espresso roast or for the strong morning coffee i prefer from a Moccamaster brewer...

here’s a review of their A4/A5 blend

It makes a huge difference to grind from beans - can always get a hand grinder before buying an electric one.
