Popular Post webfact
Pattaya: Clear water as Thai and foreign tourists flock to Jomtien on holiday Thai media 77kaoded reported that the water at Jomtien beach on Tuesday was so clear you could see the sand underneath. Not just that; the water was clean. All this had inspired a large number of Thai and foreign tourists and their families to visit the beach and go in the water. They said that the reason for the water clarity was the onset of the cool season. Picture: 77kaoded And another reason for the increase in tourists was the fact that Tuesday was a public holiday. Their upbeat report also said that people were taking pictures that they were sharing with friends on social media while others were collecting shellfish for their dinner. Crusader
Obviously we all have different ideas of 'clear' water...but with the lack of tourists comes a lack of "stuff" finding its way into the sea.
Popular Post skorp13
I have ridden along Jomtien beach the last few days and it is busier. Actually took a swim a few weeks ago and the water was the cleanest i have seen it in years. There was also a clean up crew at work on the sand. Problem is the Thais can't just rely on public holidays for their beaches and vendors to make money

Popular Post Upnotover
Wonderful photography, really capturing the feeling of large numbers of people flocking to a beach. 2/10, must try harder. 1

Popular Post phantomfiddler
The beach looks very close to deserted to me, and most of the pollution problems are due to the massive sewage flow from the Chao Phraya River into the gulf. Having sailed across the gulf and up into the river, the smell as one approaches the actual river mouth is absolutely nauseating, and even the present tourist woes are not going to cause any significant improvement ???? 3 1

Are they not aware that shellfish suck in the water for the nutrition they get from it along with the contaminates. The filth stays in their body and can transmit all kinds of nasty things to the human body. The water may appear clean but no doubt it has not been tested. 'nuf sed. bkk6060
I have swam at Pattaya and Naklua beaches a few times over the past couple of months. In my opinion they are the cleanest I have seen with no S smell. A shame they really don't have waves for body surfing, but go enjoy it while you can. Leaver
The next thing they will be saying is the beach water of Jomtien has magical healing powers.
