rooster59
Lottery riches! Single mum scoops big after "Ai Khai" appears in a dream! Image: Sanook Sanook reported that a single mum called Thongpan, aged 49, went to the Muang Chaiyaphum police in the north east of Thailand yesterday to report a 12 million baht win in the state lottery. Thongpan said that she had prayed to the spirit of "Ai Khai" (a child that died and who has been credited with bringing riches to the faithful). After her prayers Ai Khai appeared in a dream and urged her to purchase the number 51. She did this on the way to work buying two tickets with the number 286051 that duly came up. She checked the tickets after work then went to record her luck with the constabulary. This is a common practice in Thailand, notes Thaivisa. Thongpan said she would clear her debts and spend the money on her children. ronaldo0
Yeah the amount of women I know that say they win lottery they lucky as dream or some guru tell them on Facebook. I tell my wife she’s seriously stupid if she thinks these women win as many times as they say . They say they win just about every time but they never post the numbers they buy before the lottery is done , is always after it’s done and say oh I won . Then there are the ones who have farang husbands who basically spend 5-10000 a fortnight of the money he sends from abroad for her to pay house bills , car , feed kids etc . If there are 100 numbers and she buys 80 of them then she’s got good chance of winning , but not always !

Where I live people win millions of dollars every week without dreaming 12 million according to the OP Small compared to some western lotto prizes, but absolutely life changing for a 49 year old lady from NE Thailand who probably earns 2000 a month, if that. Some Thais are fairly superstitious, especially when it comes to buying a lotto ticket, so the dream aspect will be lapped up by the hopeful. Lotteries aren't there to lose money.... that 20 million came from those who didn't win in spite of charms, magic numbers, etc. Lotteries, casinos, etc should have signs "Warning: odds are very much not in your favor & you will lose. These things aren't set up to give money but to take from gullible"

Dude, some? Every Thai I have meet are very superstitious and religious. They genuinely believe their buddhist lucky charms and writings keep them safe which is part of the reason for the crazy driving and number of road accidents. Some of the superstitious believes are nuts such as if a child whispers a number Thais believe it's a "lucky number" and buy Lotto tickets for it. If they have a bad dream they think it's a sign. Here's a real crazy one, my missus believes if a dog farts it means someone is going to die or have a bad accident. I believe that people who are highly religious and superstitious are very simple minded. Edited October 20, 2020 by Patts
