They said, originally, the BTS had just planned to close 14 stations on both the Sukhumvit and Silom lines, generally those in the center of town. But the article said the police weren't satisfied with that, and so the BTS ended up closing everything. As for the subways, the Post said one of the lines was closed at 12:30 pm, and the other followed at 3:30 pm Haven't seen any mention of what's likely to be the outlook for Sunday... As seen yesterday they will always find another way to get to where they need to be. Safety and Security is the reason they are using. Are they afraid the MRT and BTS stations will be vandalized as well as the trains themselves? What foolish folks are running these enterprises, yet they also shut down the Rail link from the airport yesterday as well. I need to get to CW this week for my Extension of stay, and hope that I am done and back out of the BTS and MRT stations just after lunch, if they decide to close them down again. The morning commutes this week should be OK... But the evening commutes home are beginning to look pretty dicey... Be interesting to see if the authorities will repeat this madness on the regular weekday workdays starting tomorrow when vastly larger numbers of Thais are relying on public transit to get home from work... She asked one of the BTS people she saw and they said probably every day it will be closed in the afternoons until the protestors decide to stop. The protest leaders appear to have announced just several outlying protest locations for this evening in BKK -- the Bangkok special prison, Public Health Ministry Station on the MRT Purple Line, and the Kaset intersection. https://t.co/OuIFbJT18V?amp=1 Nothing from the BTS about Monday closures as of 4:30 pm. Also nothing from the MRT as of the same time, despite the listing of one of their stations as a protest area.
