The lone wolf/nutcase excuse is always used, but after a few thousand attacks it looks a bit thin. The Quran and life of Mohammad was his motivation, he was being devout and true to the teachings of Islam, we are just lucky most followers don't go through with it but just cheer from the sidelines. In this case - through facebook, twitter - parents and a Mosque triggered the fatwa against the teacher. It is reported that the killer contacted the student's father author (along with an Islamist activist) of the videos (3), that later were published on the Mosque's facebook page. They were not the followers - but the killer was as last link of this chain. We owe the truth to Samuel PATY, the teacher.
