rooster59
Border provinces tighten COVID-19 restrictions on cross-border merchants Tanakorn Sangiam BANGKOK (NNT) - The Ministry of the Interior’s Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration has instructed governors of border provinces to enforce measures according to the national Emergency Decree and other related announcements to control the movement of cross-border merchants and goods transportation, particularly the entry into the kingdom of freight workers. With this instruction, provincial communicable diseases committees have the power to designate specific parking space for freight carrying vehicles from neighbouring countries, and allow only essential freight workers to enter the country. The provincial communicable diseases committees must appoint an official as a commander at each border crossing where movements of persons, goods, and vehicles are still allowed. The commanding officials can regulate, issue orders, and facilitate border movements to ensure compliance with related laws and regulations. The officials must review all border movement issues which may have occurred, and report on the operations to their respective Provincial Communicable Diseases Committee. -- © Copyright NNT 2020-10-18 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates
Popular Post madmitch
I hadn't realised that cross-border traders have access to Thailand without having to comply with the draconian rules until the Mae Sot incident this week. Does seem to go against everything else the Thai Government has imposed.

One would have thought that had been taken into consideration already, but as Thailand has so often shown its "shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted" is the way things usually work.

Grumpy John
My brother otherwise known as the "Great Procrastinator" in family circles would say: If it costs time or money put it off till later. He would fit right in here in Thailand. ????

Jeffr2
Just read in the Post that 12 Thais were caught crossing illegally. They were trying to escape the spread of the virus there.

Easy to cross the Mekong river from Laos to Thailand.

That should fix the problem.
