Popular Post webfact
Tourism and Sports Ministry expects 400 foreign visitors in early November BANGKOK (NNT) - The Minister of Tourism and Sports expects that there will be approximately 400 foreign visitors in early November and expressed his belief that the Bangkok protest situation will not affect their confidence. Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Tourism and Sports, said the Special Tourist VISA lasts 90 days and can be renewed twice. Each renewal is for 90 days. Foreign visitors must undergo a 14-day quarantine or strictly comply with prescribed guidelines against COVID-19 before undertaking travel. On October 20, a group of Chinese nationals with special tourist visas (STV) will be the first foreign tourists allowed into Thailand on a chartered flight under a conditional entry scheme for selected groups of foreigners endorsed by the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA). Another group will arrive in Phuket on October 26 and more groups will gradually arrive. It is expected that by November 2nd, there will be approximately 400 foreign tourists newly arrived in Thailand. He expressed his confidence that the recent student demonstrations won’t affect the confidence of foreigners because tourists understand that Thailand does not tolerate violence. -- © Copyright NNT 2020-10-19 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 1

Popular Post Matzzon
Of course tourist confidence will not be affected by the possibility that large protest against the government have a great possibility to turn into bloody fights and killings on the streets as every 5-10 year in Thailand. Neither will a virus pandemic and a strong baht have any impact. All is rosy and we wake up feeling like a daisy full of new unbelievable ideas every single day. Eureka! Does this man mean 400 tourists per month, or even 800???? That can have a possibility to be 9600 tourists per year. That´s like 0,24 promille of the great 40 million they almost reached. Will that mean tourism that was almost 20% of GDP will fall to an insignificant 0,04% of GDP? 9 1 1

Popular Post British Bulldog
Surely the cost of putting extra officers on at the airports, supervising and checking at Hotels that tourist didn't go astray etc. etc. the cost of turning on all the lights alone, cleaning and preparing airports and other facilities, would outweigh the small profit to be made from 400 tourist ??? 6

Popular Post JusticeGB
To prevent the tourists escaping quarantine they will be sprayed with yellow paint to be made to feel as welcome as the young people protesting in Thailand. It will add to their cultural experience in Thailand. They will want to come to a country with riots as it will be similar to the riots in Hong Kong. It will make them feel at home except their paid for prison quarantine will be more comfortable than state prison. They might get 400 people returning after months of not seeing their kids or wife’s and some Thais returning from abroad. But they certainly won’t be getting 400 tourists ! 5

Popular Post Sydebolle
No, Sir, I agree; these 400 tourists worked the whole year their whatever-off to fly into Thailand to enjoy the biggest uprisings ever in this country. Don't forget the STVs, the masks, the quarantine, the usual rip-offs inherited from the past and the terminology of alternatively alien or dirty farang should be kept as well. And on the way back to their home countries, why not give 'em a guided tour through the catering of Thai Airways where the core business these days seems to be "the making of a doughnut". I can see that the endless endeavours of the TAT finally shows results; my goodness! 4
