The WHO estimates the IFR for covid is 0.14% so it's not much of a problem, well not more than the flu anyway.Don't bubbles have a tendency to burst?Perhaps they should call it a "travel corridor" or something.

No, those bubbles definitely don't burst. Those are quality made bubbles. Bubbles made in C.HINA do not burst, they bubble.

I have seen a photo of Chinese queuing for vaccine shots and statements that said it was available to any who paid. Apparently Russia is doing likewise without stage 3 finished.

My guess is that in January many countries will follow suit and that desperate Thailand will allow entry to anyone who has proof of vaccination.

Let's see how eager the Chinese really are. They seem to be quite pleased with keeping their people safely under lock and key while promoting domestic tourism, which has been booming. Coming to Thailand, they might even get to see street protests, heaven forbid!

Nobody wajts them Thais hate they will get hurt

I don't think the Chinese government wants its citizens to mix with pro-democracy protesters or to know anything about those incidents or human rights.

They will have to be dealt with first.

No doubt the Chinese Communist Party is advising the Thai government on what should be done to suppress and control the Thai people more and prevent them from expressing any political opinions. Wait for some new anti-human rights and state surveillance laws, and some more bans and crackdowns.

Fanciful to say the least and completely without proof.

Stop saying CV19 is like the flu.  It's NOT!  Stop trolling.

What does this cliché even mean in this context...China (and a few other countries) have demonstrably no/low Covid rates...why wouldn't Thailand reopen to tourism from them?

I would guess that because China is a much larger market for Thailand tourism. The other reason being that such talks are bilateral and it also depends on the willingness of the other sides which are understandably cautious.

Read Nathan Rich on Youtube about Serpentza and educate yourself. Then read Jaoyo, Gweilo60, Numuves, and Barrett to finish the job.

Serpentza was an English teacher, become a vlogger and motorcycle modder and suffered big time from Marco Polo syndrome because white dude wearing a cheap black suit speaking marginal Chinese can do anything. After he become irrelevant and the government started cracking down on unlicensed businesses and his iffy immigration status.  Now lives in the US and exploits anti-China sentiment. Bitter and resentful.

Who'd waste their time with this nut?  Uneducated also.

Rich is the only child of Julie Miriam Rich, a pet communicator of Polish-American Jewish descent,[5] who died from cancer in 2010.[1][6][3] He completed only two school grades, seventh and eighth grades, at Dunedin Academy. He spent four years at the Mace Kingsley Ranch when he was 8 and 14 years old. At 17, he left home and was later disowned by his family.[7][8] He spent seven years homeless while using and dealing drugs[3] before attending community college.[1] On Oct. 1, 2000 an arrest record showed his hands were tattooed with “THE” and “IN” written on his thumbs and “C I T Y” and “S L U T” across his fingers from his time as a member of a gang called Slut in the City.

Typical, Chinese tourists, using Chinese businesses, only money going to Thais is in the form of brown envelopes for the upper echelon mongrels making these decision.

end of rant

I guess all the drivers bussing the tourists are imported Chinese workers, as are all the hotel housekeepers, chefs, servers, and everyone else who collects a wage/salary at the hotels where they stay and all the tourist attractions they visit. Heck, even the boat boys and captains here in Pattaya who take (or used to take) the hoards of Chinese tourists on their day trips to Ko Larn are Chinese, who take their wages back with them to China to spend there.
