thank you NCC .... I downloaded windy.com early this morning on my mobile and was looking at all the wind directions and speeds down in the south pole.  very interesting.

Weather Warning
"Category 4 Severe Tropical Storm “Saudel”"

No. 3 Time Issued : October 22, 2020
     At 4.00 a.m. on 22 October, the Category 4 severe tropical storm SAUDEL over the middle South China Sea was centered at latitude 16.4 degrees north, longitude 116.2 degrees east with the maximum sustained winds about 100 km/hr. It is moving west slowly, expected to make landfall over the upper coast of Vietnam from 25-26 October 2020 and rapidly downgrade into the low cell. Isolated rain with strong wind is likely over the eastern and the lower portion of the Northeast.

     At 4.00 a.m. today, the Category 5 typhoon “Saudel” over the middle South China Sea was centered at latitude 17.5 degrees north, longitude 115.5 degrees east with the maximum sustained winds about 140 km/hr. It is moving northwest slowly. It is expected to approach the upper coast of Vietnam from 25-26 October 2020 and rapidly downgrade into the low cell. Isolated rain with strong wind is likely over the eastern and lower portion of the Northeast

Latest images. Note the formation of low 98W which is forecast to grow into yet another tropical storm and possibly follow a path similar to Saudel only slightly more to the south and will cross over Da Nang on the 29th.

     At 4.00 a.m. today, the Category 5 typhoon “Saudel” over the middle South China Sea was centered at latitude 18.0 degrees north, longitude 113.7 degrees east with the maximum sustained winds about 120 km/hr. It is moving west slowly. It is expected to approach the upper coast of Vietnam from 25-26 October 2020 and rapidly downgrade into the low cell. Isolated rain with strong wind is likely over the Northeastern part.

OK so tropical storm Saudel has been downgraded. We will see how much rain there is over night and tomorrow when the low arrives in Thailand. Looks like it is tracking slightly more north now.
