A shocking case of animal cruelty perpetrated by a Chinese tourist against stray cats on the island of Koh Phi Phi has resulted in a swift court decision.

However, the court of social media will decide whether it was justice or not, notes Thaivisa.

Chee Hang, 30, rounded up cats and took them to his room where he extracted claws, tied their legs together, put cut off plastic bottles over their heads and stuffed them in the fridge.

Hotel staff called in Watchdog Thailand after finding a lot of blood and animal hair. The police on the island were soon notified.

Chee had arrived in Thailand in February and had stayed in several hotels on the island in the south of Thailand.

The Krabi court gave Chee a six month prison sentence suspended for a year. He was ordered to pay a 15,000 baht fine.

He was detained by the Koh Phi Phi police who were to hand him over to immigration for immediate deportation.

In earlier reports Chee claimed that what he did would not be illegal in China and he had no idea about the Thai law.

A heart wrenching video posted on Channel 7 national news showed some of the horrific things that Chee had done to the animals.

He was prosecuted for animal cruelty under laws promulgated in 2014.

Honestly, that is more than I expected. Not enough, but still more than I expected.

I hope the Chinese embassy was also informed about what one of its nationals had done.

The CCP take a dislike to its citizens brining shame upon the country while abroad.

So he may get a warm welcome when he gets home.

It can be difficult at times not to be racist.......and on occasions you can be worn down and, taken off guard, condemn a whole nation.......best stop there.

Unfortunately true, toture and extreme cruelty to animals in China is not illegal and seems to be a national pastime.  It also means a society of psychopaths being unchecked as most begin with animal torture before moving onto humans.

Makes you wonder how many serial killers exist in China at any given time.
