Don't they realise that the financial cost of a significant outbreak in Thailand will be a hundred times any pathetic dollars or renmimbi they can glean from tourism at present? And their people, many of whom actively despise this government, will not forgive them for recklessly causing thousands of unnecessary deaths. The pictures of the so called random tourists from China looked rather suspicious as i could only spot 5 women out of the 39 departing from China. However I read some rumors about a Norwegian who is coming to thailand today, where his village have decided every foreigner who return, have to stay one week in quarantine additional to the arrival quarantine. At least in many many years to come it will be a so reduced industry that I will fall apart in a way never seen before. Its not only Covid 19 that is changing the game but also the way the world is nowadays with the big green shift. Account current surplus will steadily decrease for Thailand as the golden days saw its top years ago. In the coming years Thailand will loose out to many other countries and industries as they lack a good education system. It’s too many of the workforce just being simple assembly line workers.Thailand will not stand a chance against other cheaper Production countries with its ricing prices and salaries. Social attributes and characteristics in the Thai culture and daily life like “mai pen rai”, “arai ka dai”, loss of face, lack of the ability to be critical, social hierarchies, defamation laws, lese majeśte and censorship are all things thats hurting the nation incredibly much. And the biggest problem of it all is that most of the Thai people are unable to understand this. Also surveillance and regime control-like measurements that seem to be the states new hobby with increasing reports of how thai citizens and westerners are being monitored are a negative factor. Freedom seems to decrease. 2000 new surveillance cameras are soon to be installed in Bangkok for no reason. Things are being much more strict than before. Corrupt police is a big problem to some but a solution to others. It creates unstability as a result. Inviting Chinese in hordes to Thailand as the new tourist solution will only be a bad spiral that finally will drive all western mass tourist away. It’s has already started to do that before Covid 19. Not only tourists but production line factories also. Western tourists and Thai tourist business owners don’t like the Chinese at all and also benefit little from them in tourism business. The Russians were a problem in their way. The Chinese are also just in a different way. Huge changes will need to come in the years ahead for Thailand to survive as a great nation. 10 years from now and I think Thailand will be in much more trouble than it is today. If you wanted to venture to an island destination, they are all devastated by this shutdown. Was recently in Samui. 85% of the hotels were closed. Most restaurants, alot of bars, shops and other businesses were closed many permanently. Granted, there are some great hotel bargains right now. But, that environment is fairly depressing, seeing so much hardship. So, the lame authorities here need to wrap their minds around that. Tourists would be coming to a hugely diminished destination. Free quarantine? Might be a good place to start. Make some sacrifices, you incompetents. A good place to start would be the submarines. Give them up. What are you going to do with them anyway? Who will pilot them? No subs for 60 years, and all of a sudden you have the expertise to pilot and maintain them? Hello. Show the people you care. 22 billion is the official number. But, since the first one is already up to 13 billion, the numbers simply do not add up. As usual. Do you care one iota about the people? I would hope that maybe somebody in the Thai government would just tell the expats that are stranded in countries outside, to go get their covid tests, find a flight to Thailand and be prepared to quarantine the 14 days, 60 to 80 thousand baht, then enjoy their stay in Thailand. But no Anutin has to go on about some reduced quarantine times, when there are not many international flights from any where landing in Thailand.
