From what I've read the Turkish figures were about 30,000 new infections per day before the UK slapped the 14 day quarantine on them, but it seems that the Turks only include infectious people in the official count not all infections/positive results. The Turkish stats have been stable for months and the deaths too, no 2nd wave unlike in western Europe.

yeah... in UK, same than in France, everybody die because of COVID... no one die for an other problem. And number of people die for the year is same than last year...

Quarantine = no tourism = 1 million plus unemployed (and increasing) = economic hardship.
A fuller equation...

Just ignore hiscoost maybe he can't follow basic hygiene procedures..immigration need to let people in who actually know Thailand well first. Scrutinize passports simple. First or second timers not first

If a test is about  too prove postive or negative quickly, they is one somewhere i,am sure or will happen. Then before you travel and get on a plane  you are safe to arrive with no  issues anywhere you go.

My friend come back from phillipines  a few mths back and had to have a test  before he checked in,cost 120 pound and 72 hrs valid to travel. That would work for any country you want to travel in.Coming back another test to leave would work too.Something has to happen soon to let travel or countries to resume life as normal.Test in and test out then track and trace.Lets see what happens end of the year

Thailand and our favourite ???? have maintained they have the virus under control, yet the powers that be keep feeding the masses B.S. to make them scared sh==less.

These ???? should just drop all these restrictions and money making scams and welcome back the tourists all and sundry who have had a test and are not infected, there is a caveat however the French woman in Samui, but you can bet your all your worldly goods she did not contract CV19 in Thailand, it will have been dormant in her system for more than the 2 weeks she spent in the over priced prison, before being activated by her first alcoholic drink or contact with the outside world.

Just drop all the quarantine the stupidly excessive insurance which must tourist will have cover of anyway through their travel insurance and start rebuilding the defunct tourist industry that has already cost in excess of 1.57 Billion.

Well if you want to see some tourists return yea you'd have to reduce or scrap the quarantine – no real tourist is going to go trough that and the rest of the requirements. Especially the 15k euros on a savings account in your home country for 6 months back is the last straw to make sure nobody can even apply. I guess the Chinese tourist who just arrived didn't have the same financial requirements?

I must have been wrong that the median age of the TV population was around 65. Unless there was there something like a collective death wish.

I am only trying to understand why so many here want the infectious masses to return, to destroy the greatest gift Thailand has given us so far.

Turkey allowed everyone to enter since July, and there are still around 1500 cases per day, comparing to 3000 cases in April-May, when their borders were closed

Turkey have been lieing about their infection figuers for months hence why the UK took them of the safe corridor list
