If that was my kid, these dogs would die... THAT is a certainty!!! I will not torture them, just a swift and immediate death. Where is the animal cruelty in that?

If ever I saw a problem that could be solved with crowdfunding, this is it. I would gladly contribute money to this scheme. It would be something worthwhile to do while waiting for a chance to return to Thailand. A significantly improved Thailand at that.

Great idea - but in reality, hungry Thais will be climbing over their neighbours fences to kill their dog to get the bounty on it

And yet again in the hot spot area of Ao Nang. What is it, sweep it under the carpet and hope it doesn't happen again? Just last night I had a dog run at my motorcycle. Unfortunately it jumped backwards from my kick. And this same dog did the same thing in daylight last week. I would not hesitate to smash one of their little doggie heads in.

Good idea, with one small change: bring the dogs in alive. That way they can be euthanised in a nice way (painless and quick), and not by locals trying to drown them or hitting them with a shovel. Just let them lure the dogs with some food.

 

After that one month the local government can employ dog catchers to keep the soi dog population close to zero. If you see a dog wandering around, you call them and they come pick it up. Next also hire some "animal police" who can be called for people not taking decent care of their dog or for letting the dogs out of the front gate alone. 

 

(and i like your idea that there is only a bounty for 1 month: make it much longer and people will start breeding dogs just to turn them in for 400 baht a pop).

With respect, everyone seems to be concerned about the dogs (which I dislike) - what about the little boy? I hope he was given a rabies vaccination and is doing fine.
