webfact
Shots fired in south Thailand drugs sting - former border cop taken into custody Picture: Daily News Shots were fired as Thailand's drugs suppression police conducted a sting at a hotel room in the southern Thai town of Satun on Saturday. A former border patrol policeman Lance corporal Naruchai or Sarawut, 38, and Krissada, 38, brought 8,000 ya ba pills (methamphetamine mixed with caffeine) and a kilo of "ice" or crystal meth to sell. After realising it was a setup, Naruchai pulled out a 9mm gun and shot at the officers but missed. He was hit in the right arm and left leg in the exchange of fire and taken to Satun hospital in custody. A search of his property revealed 70,000 Ya Ba pills and 19 kilos of ice. Picture: Daily News Next door at Krissada's house were 20,000 pills and 13 kilos of ice plus half a kilo of Lion brand heroin. Also taken into evidence there were two AK-47 rifles and an M-16 plus 30 rounds of ammunition. The bust was part of an investigation following the seizure of 1.2 tons of ice from an international gang in Phunphin, Surat Thani in July. JimmyJ
Totally pointless but it keeps the LEO/Prison complex in business, and keeps the price up for the providers working with the authorities.
