 As someone who was highly critical of Johnson's WA, saying at the time that it sold out Northern Ireland, you'd expect me to welcome his decision to renege upon it.

 

But as he announced it as his deal and a great deal for the UK; as he fought and won an election based upon it, as announced the signing of it with much fanfare and as he rushed the Bill through Parliament: I have to wonder why he now reckons it's so bad.

 

Was he lying to us when he announced and signed it; or was he merely incompetent?

 

There is also, of course, the damage his going back on an international treaty so soon after he signed it has done to our country's reputation.
