webfact
Lockdown measures lifted in Mae Sot By The Nation Life appears to have returned to normal in Wat Luang community in Tak’s Mae Sot district as people go back to their lives. Lockdown measures put in place since October 17 were lifted on Tuesday, allowing people to return to work and children to go to school. Though restrictions have been lifted, locals are still taking preventive measures and have voiced concern about illegal migrants entering Thailand via natural borders. They want the authorities to place greater focus on this matter. Watcharin Jaiyasit, who lives in the Wat Luang community, said the area is large and difficult to control, adding that the Mae Sot municipality should be split into zones for better monitoring.
