Popular Post webfact
As predicted on Thaivisa! "Fish with a face like a human" ends up in the cooking pot! There were further developments yesterday after a fisherman called Prasert found a very unusual fish that came to be known as "the fish with a human face". Prasert said that no way would he eat the strange creature with eyes perched on top of its head, white spots and a bulbous mouth. He changed his mind, instead cutting it up and putting it in "kaeng som", a type of Thai soup. This was a pity, reported Daily News, because a man who is a kamnan and who runs a fisheries' institute wanted to have it stuffed and put on display for educational purposes. Abdol-areet Lekkun was willing to pay good money for the creature but it ended up in the stomach of the fishermen instead as part of a merit making exercise. Several Thaivisa posters on the original story had pooh-poohed suggestions that the Thais would not eat the fish. And so it proved. Popular Post Ganesh108
Foolish move. He could have deep-frozen it to later auction it off among Chinese tourists. They would have paid 1000 dollars for it. The fish would have looked great with a bit of bat garnish and a raw frog in its mouth. 2
RJRS1301
Would have been interesting to see what its "genetic" structure is (was), where it was eaten, what pollutants in the region of being caught.
CanadaSam
Apparently this is a very tasty fish, with a lobster like taste! I would have eaten it in a second!

zim1982
Hope it tasted good. Let's see what happens to this guy. Maybe he'll develop some extra freaky body parts as a result of eating it. Do we know if this helped him pick winning lottery numbers?

DrTuner
In the photo the eyes look pretty sunk in already, can't have been very fresh. I would've stuffed it and put a army uniform on it, then hang it on the wall as a portrait of The Esteemed Leader.
