webfact
Chiang Rai: Three illegal Chinese escape after bungled arrest Picture: Sanook Mae Sai police, immigration and the military acting on information received staked out a branch of Tesco Lotus on Pahonyothin Road in Mae Sai in Thailand's far north. They had word of a consignment of illegal Chinese who had crossed the border from Myanmar. When they saw the eight men and women getting into a Toyota they announced their presence. Unfortunately this created a stir and they ran off in all directions. A search of the area turned up five of the Chinese and a Thai driver called Niwat from Thoen, Lampang. Three of the illegals escaped. Niwat said he had been paid 2,000 baht by two Thai women to take the Chinese to Tak in Thailand's north west. The Chinese are believed to have crossed a natural border into Thailand. Some were working in the casino or hotels in Tachilek. There are fears that the group could have Covid-19 as they entered Thailand illegally and have not been subjected to tests. xtrnuno41
Chinese are betrayed. Why would they be checked? Anyone see the difference between Thai and Chinese? Police officers will now get lots of praise.
Popular Post Lacessit
I was not aware there was such a thing as illegal Chinese in Thailand, I thought the TAT welcomed all of them. 1
RichardColeman
Seems to be an awful lot of stories appearing about illegal Chinese and illegal Chinese dealings. Maybe that golden goose is starting to lay a few stake ones
