Im sure everybody is pleased with that inc the ASQ hotels.

People are going into quarantine and at a later stage going positive, Europe is seeing a second wave equal to the first, yet Los intend reducing the quarantine stage.

This must surely be a translation problem.

No not a translation problem, maybe a lack of common sense or, maybe a lack of comprehension, as they after all are the center of the Universe.

More inane nonsense. No program that included ANY quarantine, will succeed in attracting more than a thousand or so tourists a month. That is what we adults call a "non solution". Prayuth and his fabulously incompetent and fearful administration are the problem. There are at least a dozen good reasons why he should be removed from office.

Now, in this time of desperation, with your nation needing you more than ever before, where on earth are you? What have your proposed? Where are the solutions? How are you going to rescue the economy, and the millions who are out of work? Where is the meritocracy? Why are you always picking from the bottom of the barrel, when it comes to appointments? Why do you insist on people with no experience? Sheer cronyism? The nation does not need or want that nonsense. Grow up. Be a man. Behave like a man.

There are countless things the government could be doing, if they wanted to attract the high quality tourists.

First they need to figure out a way to attract tourism, WITHOUT quarantine. That is fairly simple.

A very reliable lab based test in the home nation, with test results before you board the plane. Then a simple antigen test at the airport. It takes 15 minutes for results. Sure, Thailand would have to invest in the test kits. Some general would have to be willing to part with a few million dollars. Each test itself, only cost $5 with the new Abbott test, which is available now.

Then they could get on to reform. Sacrifices need to be made. I do not hear ANY discussion about what sacrifices Thailand is willing to make, to get the tourists, and that multi trillion baht cash cow back.

The very first thing would be to repeal the anti farang wine bill, that was passed by a few very corrupt senators way back when, to protect an anemic local wine industry. They are losing billions of dollars a year in revenue, that would be had from a 100% wine duty, instead of 365%. The five star hotels would have major wine events, and the entire industry would flourish here.

Thailand keeps droning on and on and on, about how they want wealthy tourists. Again, what sacrifices are you willing to make? Rich tourists like to spend money when they travel. And they cannot do that here, as they do not like getting taken for a ride. Most wealthy people are smart with their money. Thailand could be making a fortune on a 25% luxury tax, instead of the 100% of more, which discourages most people from buying. How many people do you see in the luxury stores here? They are almost always completely empty. Inane. Beyond inane.

Been reading your posts over the past few weeks; what is your vested interest in letting the Pandemic into Thailand?

The French lady over 99% she was really negative. But people forget the virus survives long time on surfaces also money. She stayed in quarantine hotel. Where also positive people will stay or stayed. She just might have touched a object or infected money. And then get infected few days later as it was on here clothes or so. That why desinfecting hands is even more important in these quarantine places

I do not have one. But, I do have an interest in seeing the Thai people prosper. Keeping the nation closed is not the answer. Neither is quarantine. There are smart solutions to this missing 3 trillion baht sinkhole.

At a minimum, all people from all nations should be welcome starting tomorrow. If you are willing to endure quarantine, no restrictions whatsoever. No begging of a consulate for permission to visit. That is nonsensical stupidity. They should be given free visas, and 10,000 baht vouchers upon arrival! Commendation letters too. Free quarantine, and all expenses, including meals, picked up by the army, using their multi trillion baht slush fund. Give up the submarines, you fools. There is a tremendous lack of science and fear mongering. Let us make your stay as uncomfortable as possible. And by the way, you cannot consume alcohol either, during your quarantine. Who comes up with this stuff, and why does the nation tolerate the nonsense, the utter incompetence, the malfeasance? How much longer will they tolerate the extremely regressive army? If Thailand had a qualified health minister, and a slightly intelligent tourism minister, they would stop this nonsense, and realize no tourism program requiring quarantine will ever work. Period.

Repeating, ad nauseam, that COVID doesn't exist won't make it go away. So I'll give you this link to help you prove your case. Also bear in mind the key issue is to save the hospital systems of the countries affected, so that all, COVID and non COVID patients can be admitted and no Doctor has to resort to triage. The French lowered their guard during the summer, now they are on the brink.

Enough with the sensationalism. It is not on the brink! With such a statement one implies everyone is on a level field and transparency is the norm. France is amid a very dense region, a free society of a people with, generally, free minds. It cannot be compared with an authoritarian regime with zero transparency in the slightest. They did not lower their guard. People who work their ass off for 50 weeks were allowed a measure of normality, where social distancing remained in play. This thing moves in waves and would have hit a place like France as hard no matter what they did. A few thousand a day catching a cold and a few hundred deaths does not, and should not, bring a country of 60+ million to its knees. What you should really be concerned with is why a place like Thailand wholly accepting of millions of Chinese happens to be one of the top places in the world for having this thing under control, because, what, they eventually closed the border and have quarantine? Wakey wakey.

It does seem that the jury is out at the moment of the reliability of this test

A Thai friend arrived from Canada on an repatriation flight to visit her ill Dad recently. After 9-days in on the 14 day Q her Dad died. The hotel manager considered to "release" her and daughter 1-day early to make the funeral, but the "owner" of the hotel said "no". Heartless <deleted>..I'd trash the room if it were me.

From the hotel owner's point of view, having one room trashed would be a much better outcome than having his hotel closed by the authorities for failing to abide by the regulations. That is assuming the owner is lucky, and avoids jail.

You can criticise the authorities for not having a process to ask for special exemptions from quarantine (as New Zealand did until people provided amnesty were found to be infected). I am sympathetic to those unable to see dying relatives or attend funerals, but it is unfair to blame the owner for failing to break regulations at great business and personal risk.
