does anyone know if by opening the The Gateway Site it can be proof that i'm still living,

I very much doubt it. Submitting an annual online tax return via Government Gateway should be sufficient evidence of one's continued existence, but it hasn't prevented the booggers sending me a Life Cert.

Thanks for your reply i actually did not think it would be sufficient when i posted, far to simple and obvious for DWP!

As should submission of annual tax returns by snail mail. Further evidence of "joined-up government" being a complete myth these days, I think, with staff in HMRC and DWP in this instance presumably under strict instructions to confine their activities to the particular responsibilities of their individual silo, with blinkers firmly fixed to prevent any "unwanted" sideways glances.
