Popular Post rooster59
Netizens outraged! Thai man claims he fed live soi dogs to his crocs! Investigations inconclusive! Image: Sanook Sanook reported on what they called the latest online drama. Netizens were outraged after a man went on Twitter to explain his unusual business plan. Due to the Covid-19 economic downturn, he said he had hit on the bright idea of rounding up soi dogs to feed to his crocs at his crocodile farm in Ratchaburi. It would be ideal because chickens were costing him a packet. So off he went in his pick-up to get some dogs that he then threw into the water alive for the crocs to dine on. The problem with this was that the yelping of the dogs was alerting the neighbors so he decided on a different plan. He started to poison the dogs in the street and load them on his pick-up. Back at the farm he would then put them in sacks and drown them before cutting them up into pieces and feeding them to the crocs in chunks. If there were no dogs handy he would round up stray cats. Not surprisingly his claims got Twitter users into right online tizzy. The fisheries department in Ratchaburi took it seriously. They are responsible for licensing the 41 legal farms in the province where there are 47,000 crocodiles being raised. Chief Prawit La-orbutr said that all the facilities in his jurisdiction were checked but none were like the one on Twitter. Farms were checked from time to time, too, as licences had to be renewed every three years. He said that farms feed their animals chickens or pig carcases. His staff had failed to uncover any evidence about the poster but were rather hamstrung in what they could investigate because no one had made a formal complaint. If someone had really done such a thing they could go to jail or be heavily fined, he said. A crocodile farmer in the province called Pornchai Triamphanich told Sanook that he has 2,000 crocs. He feeds them pig carcases and if he can't get them he uses chicken bones or heads. No one in the trade fed them dogs. Efforts by Sanook to uncover the identity of the poster through records or phone numbers failed. Popular Post jak2002003
Any real difference feeding the crocodiles dogs than pigs? Why care about the dogs dying more than the pigs? Seems like discrimination. Why aren't the dog lovers outraged about the poor crocodiles being imprisoned in those stagnant filthy overcrowded farms and then being killed for their skin? 6 1 1

One has to get descent belts, travel bags and shoes, and without the farms how would one achieve this? Soi dogs being fed live to crocs, is a big bit extreme, and poisoning them then feeding them to the crocs could make the crocs unwell.

Popular Post Freigeist365
He did one thing right (except the poisoning part), but what's wrong with this is that he couldn't keep his mouth shut. I hope that he made a joyride down to Ao Nang and got those bloody strays who almost ripped an arm off a poor Thai child a few weeks past... ???? + ???? = ???? 3

I think it is a good idea, but wouldn't the poison affect the crocs as well? And then there are people who may steal dogs, and if caught claim they thought it was a soi dog. jak2002003
Maybe it should have translated as he 'drugged' the dogs to keep them quiet when he transported them in his pickup. . Because it says he fed them to the crocs alive.

Thingamabob
Disgusting, if true. Awful conditions for the crocodiles, and a horrible end for the dogs and cats. The way humans treat animals is an utter disgrace. I suspect we will pay the price, sooner or later.
