damen
Hello, has anybody here tried shipping stuff from Singapore to Thailand. I have ordered tons of stuff in Aliexpress and i always choose their shipping with local shipping which is from Vpost (Singapore National Post). Hasn't hit by any tax from Custom yet. My question here is if i were to purchase a Sony Ps5 from singpaore and ship by Vpost as a gift without declaring the price. Sending to my wife thai name. Will i hit heavy tax rate?
yankee99
Of course you will pay tax and you need to put a value on the declaration

Announced price for the digital edition is 599SGD which equals to 13600THB. The same version in Thailand should retail at 12900THB. So why do that?
KKr
Anything over 1500 B goods + shipping + insurance (cutoff applied with some leniency) will be import taxed and on top of that VAT
solafr
I can see many people who know nothing but still reply here. Most of the time parcels sent by standard registered post, airmail, are not taxed, especially from Singapore, HK and China.

Customs Regulations etc. say different, unless excempt under ASEAN. Shall I find some receipts for you, or rather boxes with the tax amount written on them ? Do you wish to buy from them?

No gift, just use normal tracked post, Thai post is really good (last time they even fixed my box because they received it broken and it contained 10000 baht of food). You are required to write the list of items so maybe don't write "BRAND NEW PS5 THAT YOU CANT BUY IN THAILAND". write "electronic game for kids" or "gaming console" just in case. Anyway if they ask you to pay something it will be less than 40000, I guess!
damen
Updates. Apparently there is no import taxes at all. Probably i'm just lucky. I bought quite few set of PS5. 1 for myself and rest resell to my local gaming store. Lucky me. Some Profit + 1 free console.
