snoop1130 11,948
No casualties as Phi Phi bungalow hotel goes up in flames By THE NATION The Phi Phi Hill Bamboo Bungalow hotel on Krabi’s Phi Phi island reportedly went up in flames on Thursday afternoon, though no deaths or injuries were reported. Police said officials from the Phi Phi National Park and locals helped put out the fire with buckets of water as no fire-trucks are stationed on the island. It took nearly 40 minutes to have the fire under control. The resort, which has been closed due to the Covid-19 outbreak, is located on a hill and built of natural materials which are easily flammable. So far, 17 of the hotel’s 20 rooms have been damaged, accounting for losses of up to Bt3.4 million. Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
