Popular Post sceadugenga
Marvelous weather. A sure sign of seasonal change is the appearance of an enormous hairy blanket, apparently made of the hides of several yaks, that appears on the other side of the bed. The usual occupant of that part of the bed then disappears under it for most of the hours of darkness. 5
RickG16
Chang Rai is on my 'to go list'. Sure there is a lot of hiking etc to be done there... what else would you recommend?
Popular Post jollyhangmon
... yes, time to find some socks too, tiled floors got rather cold in barely a weeks time ... lovely weather otherwise, no smoke yet either except for medical reasons ...

DaLa
Great to be able to sleep with no air conditioner whirring all night. It's a major concern to me though that I'm a little bit cold at 23 degrees when I need to go back to the UK at some point. Luckily I have an electric blanket somewhere in store.

Spend half a day in Tachilek if the border is open. Drink the local coffee, eat at Chivet Thamma Da, bus down to Phayao for lunch at the lake, spend the evening with the backpackers and expats in the little bars and cafes along Jed Yod road. Go up to Phu Chi Fa for the sunrise, should be magnificent on these cool clear mornings.

I'm staying in that exact location, right across the road from Wat Jed Yod. I might be one of those expats you hang with.

sceadugenga
Not really, there's a few up the clocktower end in a little side soi but most of them as you go up towards the temple are fairly harmless drinking and eating places.
