Nothing at all to do with becoming a nanny state, just about being able to walk in a public area or on the beach without being attacked by stray dogs. If this was an isolated case I'd say it was bad luck, but as we have seen this has happened here before and continues to do so as the local officials have done nothing. So if they were sued for damages they might get a shove in the right direction and do something.

There is no fear of LOS becoming a nanny state as no authority does anything to fix anything unless you grease a palm..

Why is it the monumentally flawed comment of ‘nanny state’ always crops up when people have opinions and comments against Thailands dangerous flaws, be it traffic, street dogs, poor elections etc... Using the phrase ‘nanny state’ doesn’t make the poster appear more chilled, more relaxed, more tolerant of local culture, more experienced of life in paradise etc... it just makes the specific poster come across in his comments as a thoughtless tool. Kids are being bitten, scarred, injured by stray and feral dogs, motorcyclists are being knocked of their motorbikes and injured by these stray and feral dogs, cyclists are being chased and attacked.... Stray dogs in Thailand are problem and as more and more people suffer financially more of these dogs will go hungry and revert to natural instinct and become more territorial and aggressive. Sorting out the ‘stray dog problem’ has nothing to do with ‘nannying’ its population and everything to do with basic common sense - its a shame idiots can’t recognise this and throw out galactically moronic comments such as ‘nanny state’ !!! 3
