Crossy
I remember a similar proposal when I was an apprentice (that was long, long ago), the original idea was mooted by Isaac Asimov sometime in the 40's. Of course there's the "minor" issue of the beam microwaving anything in it's path if it drifts off target (or even if it doesn't). Satellites that beam solar energy to supply unlimited power on earth are the focus of UK government-backed research that aims to turn a science-fiction concept into a new renewable source to rival wind and PV. Space-based solar power (SBSP) systems would launch very large satellites that collect solar energy, convert it to high-frequency radio waves and deliver it to grid-connected receivers back on the ground, according to a statement from the UK Space Agency and Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). chickenslegs
Quote The Solex Agitator is a small but very powerful device, used in the movie The Man With The Golden Gun (1974). In the film, the Solex Agitator is a device which can harness solar energy, created by British scientist Gibson as a solution to the global energy crisis. https://www.jamesbondlifestyle.com/product/solex-agitator Been done before.
