The final 30 contestants vying for the Miss Thailand 2020 crown were named at CentralWorld department store on Saturday.

The finalists donned indigo blue gowns as they flaunted their beauty on the stage.

The highlight of the event was the unveiling of a diamond crown for the winner, to be presented by Sireethorn Leearamwat, Miss Thailand 2019 and Miss International 2019-2020.

It's a rigged game, from people who were in this game, controlled by transgenders and other influentials shakers and movers in the industry and mostly about the money, the contestants looks and personality are not a deciding factor in this pageant...

Like most things, its about WHO you are connected to and how big the envelopes are.

The actual female attributes come about 5th in priority and thats being generous.

Total farce.

Not true. Although a fair bit of "generosity' goes a long way in some of the competitions; at all ages. There have been some outcries at some competitions, even local fete type ones.

The contestants do have to be attractive, fit in with the latest "trends" (thicker lips are currently a biggy) and have skills. The criteria differs from contest to contest, as does the caliber, ability and motivation of the judges. There are numerous contests now, all which feed into various of the regional and world wide competitions. All at a price of course. Travel overseas and they organize flights, hotels, transport etc etc.

These are franchise operations out to make money. Photographers, make up artists, hair stylists, dress designers and makers range in price up to very very expensive. But a contestant must invest in them to stand a chance. Winners, runners up and ones that become popular can make good money though - prizes, sponsorship, endorsements, personal appearances, TV work etc etc.

As with all entertainment, the show is for the punters, the objective is to make money,

Did they have to do a test to ensure they were women?

Asking for a friend.

Usually they have to provide copies of their birth certificate, ID, and latest school/university report if still studying (they just love the bureaucracy!). Plus portfolio of photos from previous competitions, awards, achievements etc.

You don't just turn up!

You forgot the plastic surgeons - there's more plastic on that stage than in a coca-cola factory

I too think they need a new contest with 100% natural women.  All these surgical altered women create issues in many young women.   But im sure the plastic surgeons donate to the cause.   Look at the last contest mut they even promoted a plastic surgeon.    We all have heard a nice looking woman thinking her brrasts are to small or she wants lighter skin or bigger lips.    These big fake things are a deal killer with me.

so you are saying the Thai winner beat women from 83 other countries in Japan because she bought it with an envelope stuffed with cash and because she was connected?

i find that a bit hard to believe to be honest.

A very pretty and intelligent girl.

Keep things in context, I think you need to re-read the OP, no one said anything about the "world contest/competition" the Op speaks specifically of the reduction in runners for the Miss Thailand contest.

This particular Miss Thailand contest is the lead up to pick the winner to compete in the Miss International event.

So the ugly girl wins the Thai contest with a stuffed envelope and her Thai connections. Then the ugly Thai goes on to represent Thailand and win the world event against all the other girls from other countries who were chosen for their good looks.

Wow. Ugly Thai girls are more beautiful than the best from other countries. World beaters.
