Thai government encouraging teen mums to stay in education

The Thai government is rolling out plans to encourage more teenage mothers to stay in education.

Though the number of teen pregnancies has dropped considerably over the last few years many are still dropping out of education.

Government spokeswoman Ratchada Thanadirek said that many would benefit by getting better jobs and being able to look after themselves if they were to remain in educational programs, as is their right.

In 2015 there were 51 pregnancies per 1,000. In 2019 this dropped to 23.

The north and south remained higher at 42 and 35 respectively.

The under 15 pregnancy rate was at under one per cent.

How about spending some time teaching these girls (and the guys knocking them up) about sex and the consequences... or, try teaching boys to be men instead of worthless sacks of sh*t drinking lao kao and smoking yaba. The education system in this country is a joke. Lazy people, useless schools and teachers worried more about their haircut and sh*tty uniforms.

Why not enhance teenage sex education when they're at school to prevent pregnancy, then they wouldn't have to drop out.
