The choice of a Latino to head DHS is interesting. Alesandro Mayorkas will expectedly overhaul Trump's hard-line immigration policies. Next will be whether he gets senate confirmation.

Hopefully he will make border patrol accountable and end the immigration police practice of stopping vehicles more than 200 miles from a border and demanding all passengers to produce identification, which is illegal. Lots of work to be done here.

As we know, a Republican senate can delay confirmations indefinitely.  Trump himself provided the remedy for this. Simply make them all 'acting' directors. It also has the advantage of making them easy to quickly replace without undo hassle. In fact, again thanks to trump, a terse tweet is all that's needed.

The Age of Congressional Deadlock has begun. Hopefully the midterm elections will hand Biden the control of Congress that presidents typically enjoy.

I will be happy when Trump is gone and SNL goes onto some one else for their fodder.

I will be happy not to hear the guys voice or see his ugly mug, except at some golf course.

If Trump ever goes on some speaking tour, I will certainly not be going to hear what ever

garbage he would be talking about.  Bye Bye Donny,  Take your bucket and go home.

Geezer

Perhaps it's time for the DACA people to uncork the champagne.

Biden has pledged to reinstate DACA. Still not yet for champagne until the GOP senators come on board.

What do you think the horse trade to enable this will be? Immunity from prosecution?

Fairs fair he did pardon that turkey.

On the other hand...

William Barr’s Lame-Duck Execution Spree Is Unprecedented

Last week, the Trump administration announced that it would continue to carry out executions in the days and weeks leading up to the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden, with the last one now scheduled just five days before Biden takes office on Jan. 20, 2021. This bloodthirsty decision is another and particularly grotesque way in which President Donald Trump and his Justice Department are defying the norms and conventions for modern presidential transitions.

The Death Penalty Information Center reports that the last time an outgoing administration did anything remotely similar was more than a century ago, in 1889.

I would expect no less from Trump. He will probably want to watch it live. This is the caliber of the man. He enjoyed power over life and death far too much.

Next time he is in Scotland playing golf I might pop over and have a word with him ????.

Hes very popular there.

I suspect you're right. After 4 years of hard core conspiracy theories and trumped up charges (pun intended!), it seems likely that many Trump supporters out of the 70m+ that voted for him won't want to shake hands and make up.

Biden has 47 years experience to call on - and he's gonna need every second of it if he's to stand any chance. Especially given the more radical nature of some of those in the Congress and Senate who will be expecting more radical policy implementation. He's got one hell of a challenge to juggle that lot!

And, other countries with "interests" in the US not being stable aren't going to suddenly stop their interference just because a new POTUS is in place.

Classic! You have managed to completely contradict yourself in 3 sentences! First, you say "4 years of hard core conspiracy theories and trumped up charges" then you say "other countries with "interests" in the US not being stable aren't going to suddenly stop their interference"! LOL!

You can't make stuff up with you guys, black is white is up is down is right is left. How do you manage to function as a human with the massive amount of cognitive dissonance in your head?
