Pennsylvania Judge Halts Further Vote Certification Steps

A Pennsylvania judge issued an order preventing the state from taking additional steps to certify its election results until she holds a hearing on Friday morning.

The ruling on Wednesday by Commonwealth Court Judge Patricia McCullough in Pittsburgh halts the process “to the extent that there remains any further action to perfect the certification of the results of the 2020 General Election.” Secretary of the Commonwealth Kathy Boockvar certified President-elect Joe Biden’s 80,555-vote Pennsylvania victory yesterday, and Governor Tom Wolf appointed electors for the state. Boockvar and Wolf are both Democrats.

The case before McCullough is separate from the federal lawsuit by President Donald Trump’s campaign that seeks to undo Pennsylvania’s certification unless it tosses out tens of thousands of mail-in ballots the suit alleges are illegal. The state case was brought by Pennsylvania Republicans led by U.S. Representative Mike Kelly, who sought to derail certification by arguing that the state’s expansion of mail-in voting was illegal.

I don't really get this.  If "Secretary of the Commonwealth Kathy Boockvar certified President-elect Joe Biden’s 80,555-vote Pennsylvania victory yesterday" what does "halts the process to the extent that there remains any further action to perfect the certification of the results of the 2020 General Election" even mean?  How can there be any further action to halt something that has already happened?

Nothing.

The judge must have her 5 minutes of fame.

I almost feel sorry for her. She is apparently a confirmed Republican so the pressure on her must be immense. She cannot but be aware that if she rules against certification, it will almost certainly be overturned in higher courts, and any career expectations will be dashed. On the other hand if she rules to  allow certification she will be " Billy no mates" in her gang!

It is obvious trump supporters have no idea what has happened.

the presidential race has been certified. Biden has won.

this judge suspended certification of things that has not been certified, which is the state legislator and congress certification, which was won by republicans.

So republicans have stopped certification of their own victory, by complaining about the system that they voted to approve.

This has nothing to do with the presidential votes.

The legalities of that are uncertain-you don't know that a certified states electors cannot be reversed by the supreme court, we are all waiting and seeing.. people think in america you win the vote count and it's over..  the Jan 6 election process is ambiguous .. if there is a contested election a few senators and congressmen can throw the house into a caucus..

congress shall meet on Jan the 6 the president of the senate shall presid over congress, the states shall report the certified electoral college results however if congressmen and senators object to any states then there is a vote to accept or reject.. it goes from there..you can do your own research..
