Anyhow , bar the 700 odd tourists, 40 000 people who work and their families , plus business, medical, students etc scattered around Thailand is nothing . This latest minister obviously doesn’t know how much it costs to charter a plane . They are a bunch of uneducated fools.

Or is it that this Minister  is  very well aware of the  capacity of  some  to  not  just charter  but  buy an aircraft outright  just  now?

Exceptional  wealth  buys exceptions.

Until recent events regarding  Covid-19  Thailand has been  a relatively safe  haven  from the  inundation of infection in winter season  locations.

Who cares what the real numbers are of those that pass the  borders so long as they are accounted  for somewhere.

I increasingly  find it ridiculously  tiresome that  so many  find  cause  to ridicule the Thai way of doing things given  little evidence of justification  in  outcome with regard to  C-19.

So easy is it  to deflect from the situations in  "superior nations" ?

Can anyone  provide a "superior" example of overall  effective protective  administration at this point in history?

Perhaps  China? Would  you  prefer  that ?

And in addition to the 40,000 expats and business people, how many tourists have signed onto your ridiculous quarantine program? Total? 4,000? Maybe?

Any program requiring quarantine is destined to fail. Testing and vaccines. That is the answer.

Trillions of dollars in tourism infrastructure is at stake, and millions of jobs. Man up. Get with thr program. Stop the fear mongering, and roll out some creative and progressive programs. And in the a sense of that, be courageous and offer your people some real help. 3,500 baht per month for two months may be better than nothing, but it will not change lives. If the army was serious and cared, it could dig into its own multi billion dollar treasury. Same applies to other billionaires here.

....in comparison to other places, it's not so bad.
