Our seas were plundered of their fish and our industry bribed to relocate to the EU. Ridiculous health and safety and socialist laws tied our companies up in knots until they were no longer viable and could be bought for cheap by foreign competitors. We have lived for 48 years with the EU's knee on our neck. Now we a breaking free!! We can finally breathe! mmm second degree?

david555
Brexit news: France warns UK fish entering EU must be BANNED if demands not met | Politics | News | Express.co.uk Can’t use our markets! France warns UK fish entering EU must be BANNED if demands not met FRANCE has refused to let its fishermen become "collateral victims of Brexit", with the UK warned its fish must not be able to enter the European market if access to British waters isn't granted to their own fishermen. By PAUL WITHERS PUBLISHED: 21:03, Thu, Dec 3, 2020 | UPDATED: 21:07, Thu, Dec 3, 2020 A post-Brexit trade deal between the UK and EU remains on a knife-edge, with the two negotiating teams working through the night in London in a frantic attempt to make a major breakthrough. Britain will fully cut ties with the bloc at the end of the Brexit transition period on December 31, but any trade deal will still have to be ratified by both the UK and EU parliaments. Fishing rights has remained a major stumbling block in post-Brexit trade negotiations, with both sides seemingly refusing to give too much ground on the crucial red line. "A win-win agreement must be obtained. "If our fishermen cannot access British waters, then British fish must not enter the European market." more... After an intense 24 hours of apparent progress, negotiations appeared to go backwards somewhat on Thursday, however EU sources reportedly dismissed UK claims that the bloc was “bringing new elements to the table at the eleventh hour” as mere “theatrics”, insisting that the same sticking points seen since February remain – those of fishing rights, state aid and governance. But with just days left to secure a deal and tensions already high in Brussels, Boris Johnson’s government announced it will bring two bills in possible violation of the Brexit withdrawal agreement before the Commons next week, which it claims is necessary to prevent a border in the Irish Sea. Michel Barnier has reportedly told EU envoys such a breach of trust would plunge the talks into irreparable “crisis”. AlexRich
I think we are seeing the usual EU negotiating style of last minute demands, designed to squeeze some more concessions, with France playing the “bad cop” role. A tiresome game ... let’s hope it gets resolved by the end of this weekend. I’m fed up to the back teeth with Brexit. One bonus for Thailand dwellers should be a better currency rate. PH That comment was prefaced with a comment about wanting things resolved ... i.e. an agreement. Which, other things being equal, should strengthen GBP. For a Thai dweller no deal will increase the price of a Chang ... and everything else.
