Four foreigners among 11 new Covid-19 cases in quarantine centres

The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) on Sunday reported 11 new cases in quarantine facilities over a 24-hour period.

 

A 52-year-old Thai monk returned from the United States and checked into a Samut Prakarn alternative state quarantine hotel where he tested positive on November 26.

 

Two male students aged 25 and 26, who returned from Libya, a 60-year-old Thai male merchant from Mozambique, and a 37-year-old Thai woman from Italy tested positive in a Chonburi state quarantine hotel on November 26.

 

Two Thais -- a 33-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man who works as a hotel employee -- returned from South Korea on November 24 and tested positive on November 27 and 28 respectively in state quarantine facilities in Chonburi province.

 

A 55-year-old Frenchman arrived on November 21 and tested positive on November 26 in an alternative state quarantine hotel in Bangkok.

 

A 42-year-old male Pakistani on November 23 went into an alternative state quarantine hotel in Bangkok where he tested positive on November 27 after suffering cough and sore throat symptoms.

 

A 23-year-old Omani businesswoman arrived on November 26 and tested positive on the same day in an alternative hospital quarantine.

 

A 28-year-old Kuwaiti man arrived on November 26 and tested positive on the same day in an alternative hospital quarantine. His health record confirmed that he had been infected with the virus four months ago.

 

Meanwhile, two patients have recovered and been discharged.

 

The total number of confirmed cases in Thailand increased to 3,977 (1015 in state quarantine), 117 are in hospital, 3,800 have recovered and been discharged and 60 have died.

 

According to Worldometer, as of 10am on Sunday, the total number of confirmed cases since the outbreak increased to 62.56 million (up by 571,698), 43.19 million have recovered, 17.92 million are active cases (105,238 in severe condition) and 1.46 million have died (up by 9,199).

 

Thailand ranks 151st for most cases in the world, while the US has the most number with 13.61 million, followed by India 9.39 million, Brazil 6.29 million, Russia 2.24 million and France 2.2 million.

 Not a good time to open the borders ...

Just wait for a working vaccine and fast tests .
