Popular Post ezzra
I agree a 100% with this order, anyone who is stupid and criminally careless to disregard the safety of 70 million people because of their selfish needs need to have the book thrown at them...
Popular Post bkk6060
They should throw in lifetime compensation to places like Central Festival mall in Chiang mai that has turned into a ghost town due to her irresponsible and illegal actions.
Popular Post phantomfiddler
Great idea, except they most likely have no money and what's the point of putting them in jail ? This is a no-win situation and in my opinion we have no option other than to learn to live with it, like we have with colds and flu etc.

Oh come on. You and me both know how to set the real example. And that is going after the corrupt officials that allow this to happen. These people sneaked (highly irresponsible) over the border for jobs to feed their families. The people who allow this to happen can continue as per normal, perhaps at a higher price. They are the culprits. They need to be put in jail. They are the ones where an example has to be made. They don't need to feed their families but their Mercedes and third, fourth and fifth properties. Edited December 3, 2020 by DeeMak9

These people ( mainly hill tribes ) cross the border into Myanmar illegally on an almost daily basis and return illegally because they don't have passports, AND they've been doing it that way for hundreds of years. There are NO corrupt officials involved in these instances, just poor uneducated people that the Thai Govt doesn't even officially recognise as Thai citizens, hence the reason the pink ID cards came into existence in the first place. These crossings are mostly done in the jungle well away from where they can be detected.

As far as I know and read these people went over the border for jobs in the casino and they crossed at a "closed" border crossing and or another point which (should) only allow cargo. Correct me if I'm wrong ???? Either way, this is a problem that goes way deeper than just irresponsible people crossing borders. Both in case of the hill tribes or people working at the casinos abroad. IMO it's unjustified to make an example of them by jail, rather than fixing the broken system that allows this to happen. me4175
Knee-jerk reaction to calm the public anger. But it will only serve as a deterrent for others to come forward in future as long as they are not getting deadly sick.

ukrules
A reward for reporting the public officials who allow this to happen would be a step in the right direction and stop it dead.

As opposed to throwing the book at rich criminals or even leaders of the country who equally disregard the safety of the majority of Thais? They are buying 40 million doses of the vaccine. Each person needs two doses. That 20 million people safe. The other 50 million? 1

In this area is no need to cross in the jungle well away from detection as in numerous places the road and many large villages are located in both countries - - plus there were only a few military check-points along the way, sov ery easy to circumvent the check points if you wanted to.

The military check points DO NOT check for passports etc, just do a vehicle/motor bike search to make sure there are no drugs being transported. We witness this on a daily basis when cycling in the Doi Ang Khang area. Edited December 4, 2020 by TigerandDog
