SOUTH PATTAYA BUS TERMINAL ??

hi people, i have got to pick someone up tomorrow from *south pattaya bus terminal* i can find nothing in that name, so is it PHETPRASERT BUS STATION, dont want to be at the wrong place, looks like it is way out on sukhumvit road, not far from the motorway junc, is this correct. (seems a bit out in the sticks)?

I'm guessing your friend is using the Phet Prasert bus company ? Is that where you got the name ? 
Took a bit of searching and googling but I think I've found what you are looking for.

They have an office on Sukhumvit, East side, between Central Pattaya and North Pattaya Roads (yes I know you said "South Pattaya" in your post but that is where the map link on their website takes you). 
If you are heading down the Suk (towards Central Pattaya Road), the place is on the left about 400 meters before the "tunnel" starts.

If your friend is using a different bus company (i.e. one of those little mini-vans) then one of the major drop-off/pick-up points is at the pedestrian skywalk just before the Suk/Pattaya Tai intersection. Other similar vans (going to different places) have a point in Central Pattaya by the Banchak PT gas station (just past the Suk/Central Pattaya intersection heading towards North Pattaya.

I don't know of any "bus terminal" other than the one in North Pattaya.

They are probably referring to the spot where a lot of those mini-vans drop off/pick up people.

If all else fails, they can send you their location when they arrive. Save you running around to half a dozen different places in vain.

I recall that a popular minivan drop-off and pick-up location is just north of the junction of Pattaya Tai and Sukhumvit. They inbound ones drop off at the base of the footbridge over Sukhumvit. Similarly, the northbound ones clutter up the junction at the base of the same footbridge on the other side. I used to pick up my masseuse in front of the 7-eleven pictured after she had come down on the minivan from Bangkok.

Well there was one just after the Klang junction on Suk Southbound, but it did not service mini-buses. It was for the Nakhoncai Air, and Nakhonchai Tour coaches going between Chiang Mai, Rai and Korat (Nakhon Ratchhasima). Is that still there?

 

The one you mentioned handled coaches from Tak City and on to Rayong.
