Why's that, it not a ban on buying beer, is it. There's always an alternative.

Justgrazing prolly thinks tourists come and stay in a locked room and online order booze online delivered to the room.

Seriously this new "law" will affect very few (if any) non Thai's..... and yet here we are 6 pages deep with farangs arguing the toss and nitpicking points that don't exist.

What happens with disabled people unable to visit retail outlets who do all their shopping online?

pay COD when the delivery driver arrives... there go a face to face transaction.

I buy my beer and alcohol stocks with a simple text message, its delivered by a one of the shop staff.

edit:..... Iam not disabled, just too damn lazy to stop in my busy soi and rub shoulders with the locals.

I thought that was only to transport it between provinces, but I could be wrong.

So if i go to another province to buy unavailable beer in my province, not only would I need a special license but a work visa for a job not allowed by me. Makes perfect sense in the LO Stupidness.

Well ask the person who do their normal chores would they mind going to buy some alcohol (beer) for them

Quite agree.

No such thing as a work visa so don't fret over it.

Still waiting for a check point to check and make sure people are wearing underwear

Having to <deleted> in a plastic cup to prove you aren't intoxicated is already a step in the good direction

maybe the police guy pick a boo at your underwear while you are doing this ?

A plastic cup with CCTV installed?

Not so fast mate ???? I'd venture to say that Thailand, despite its shortcomings, is still a notch above Muslim Malaysia when it comes to such things.

Slowly, slowly, step by step, little by little, those puritans with a strangle hold on power and control in Thailand are taking the country backwards not forwards..

This is going to destroy overnight the small suppliers  that specialise in quality imported wine for online sale.

Almost the only way to get your hands on a decent ( and of course ridiculously expensive ) bottle of wine outside Bangkok, has been on line or in high end restaurants which are non existent in the provinces. Now we are denied even that costly pleasure at home and it's back to in store  Thai " fruit" wines or low end Australian and similar plonk, still of itself expensive, if an import, for what you get.

Of course if you only want to get off your head, and that's all the young and not so young Thais want, there are still plenty of cheap Thai spirits available in bulk in the big stores, and by the bottle in the village mom and pop shops..but even that has to be lugged home not delivered to your doorstep...

There nothing wrong in stocking up on your plonk little my little. You don't have to run out of it before you buy it.

Part of the fun is chatting with your Falang friends, discussing where we have purchased alcohol ,whether it be in city or village, some great buys if you look around.

Also great to experiment with producing your own wine, some very interesting results.

So, in your limited thinking, it's quite reasonable to remove a service from an independent disabled person and have someone else do their "chores" for them?

Perhaps all online services should be banned and the disabled could be locked away in institutions where paid staff can do everything to organise their lives!

As this new law seems to be an idiot attempt to stop underage drinking what's to stop a 17 yo getting someone older to do their shopping chores?

Oh the drama. Five pages of Tvf netizen outrage.

From many who never buy booze online anyway but love to complain.

Very easy to get booze in Thailand, they sell it at the thousands of supermarkets, the tens of thousands 7/11s and Family Marts, in thousands of service stations, tens of thousands local shops, in thousands of bars and pubs, in thousands of restaurants, in thousands of resorts.

Calm down. We will be ok.

That’s where they sell the cr**. If you want quality those above don’t carry it.

Depending on the local bib they might consider this online purchasing because even if a person orders online someone has to deliver and they can request ID with proof of age

Ordering a delivery over the phone (or sms/line/whatsapp) is not online purchasing.

This law won't stop under age kids from buying in the mom and pop stores in villages where they don't check and law enforcement don't monitor

It's also difficult to check the age of kids buying alcohol in small shops out of town, when making money is involved.

I assume they will all be shut down nationwide next month then?

cmon wake up... do you really think its about age?  do you beleive all you read?
