Anutin says this is because of those being selfish with out acknowledging that the borders should have been much more enforced and this should have been forseen. With all the money that guy has you would think he would buy a clue. Hope all of us here enjoyed it it while it lasted, could turn ugly quick, jus sayin'

  • Herein is my concern with opening Thailand borders to tourism. If controlled, test groups are fine if the “leaking” of getting around quarantine and testing? Then Thailand residents are no better off than many other countries and all the earlier precautions will have been in vain.

The pretty ones were offered 250,000 Baht per month, but had to sleep with 12 clients a day.  Sounds like 30 days would put them up there in contention with the former basketball great Wilt Chamberlain, if they worked for 10 months or so.

Wealthy Thais don't need to cross into Myanmar to enjoy the company of Thai women. They have more choice in Thailand.

Unless gambling and the prospect of a big win is on the cards. Thai military and cops will be right into that.

These people beggar belief, don'y they. They know what they have done but I suppose there is a chance that they have the level of understanding of the consequences of their actions of a five year old.

That's belittling 5yr old's :cheesy:

Just a hop and a skip away..

Yep, was just looking at it on Google Earth. That border between Mai Sai and Golden Triangle is nuts - a little river that looks like it could be hopped across in many places. Not only that but the Ruak river has meandered so much since the official border was drawn that the border is now all over the place, with parts of Myanmar on the Thai side of the river and vice versa. Must be impossible to patrol.

Wealthy Thais like to gamble as well, there are no casinos in Thailand. Tatchilek has casinos and women, do you think the women would go there if they had no clients?

Tachileik is flushed with drug money so plenty of local clients for those Thai ladies. After making the shipment across the border, local drug runners like to spend their money in Tachileik before going back to the hills to prepare for next.

Wow.

So much for the sieve, porous and swiss cheese analogies. Seems more like a fire-hose.

Mae Sai is very notorious to be porous and the border patrol there are all in for the bribe money. There is a special van from downtown Mae Sai to take  Thai people ( no question asked and back to the Casino. The fee pays all the officials on both sides.

These sex workers are coming back to Thailand to put their sex money in their bank accounts. They are not coming empty handed.

The Hotel must have told them that they can't work when sick..

The rules is that more came in therefore those were send back..

Once recovered, they will go back..

It is well know that the Thai border police is allowing truck to ferry goods back to Takielek which cannot survive without any Thai products.

Mae Sai police is very notorious to make money for the crossover at the border whether it is goods or human being and sometimes drug.

They keep their eyes closed.

They are going to have same problem at Chiang Saen. golden triangle.. a major gambling complex being build across the river in Myamar. It is almost done.. where the customer are going to come from? Thailand of course, just a boat ride to the casino. you can even swim across.

The Sex business will keep on going on no matter. Just like in Bangkok...clothes are off and mask are off. HAHA..

what kind of quarantine they have for people crossing the border. Mae Sai does not have even a certified hotel
