Even so a smart engineer would calculate how many people could possibly fit and design for 3 times that. With steel cables im sure it could be designed to be safe and still look primitive. I would say real bad press for the tourist industry and Thailand continued lack of safety standards. Maybe they need some big lawsuit settlements. Could easily have been a paralyzed person.
