webfact
Suan Dusit Poll - Chiang Mai favorite travel destination among Thai people for New Year festival File photo BANGKOK (NNT) - It is expected that a large number of people will travel during the New Year holidays, from December 31, 2020, to January 3, 2021. Suan Dusit poll conducted a survey which found that most popular destinations are in the North and everyone will travel cautiously in terms of spending and the COVID-19 situation. Suan Dusit Poll conducted an opinion survey on 1,277 people throughout the country, from December 4-10, to gauge their travel plans over the New Year holiday. Asked to indicate travel behaviors they will change during the coming New Year, more than 83 percent said they will be more careful, while others said they will avoid crowded locations, visit tourist spots near their homes and make one-day trips. On their average travel expenses per year, most of them said they spend from 10,000-20,000 baht for travel, others said 20,001-30,000 baht, only 17.23 percent spend more than 30,000 baht and only 14 percent less than 5,000 baht. Asked what they want the government to do to promote tourism over the holiday, they mentioned measures to prevent COVID-19 transmission for safe tourism and measures to prevent tourism-related accidents. On their favorite travel destinations, Chiang Mai came first followed by Bangkok, Chon Buri, Nan and Chiang Rai. Asked about factors they thought could affect their travel plans during the New Year, the COVID-19 pandemic came first followed by the economy, their own financial problems and traffic conditions. -- © Copyright NNT 2020-12-15 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 1

from the home of CC
polls do not mean squat in these times. Money generated through business (through government incentives) is not a steady flow as it was in pre covid times. Since commerce experiences ebbs and flows (trickling up and down) plans will alter according to good and bad weeks rendering polls inaccurate and in some cases are dubious anyways..
