Manager reported that the Prachuap Khiri Khan governor Phallop Singhsenee ordered the setting up of two Covid-19 checkpoints on Phetchkasem Road (Bo Fai) and the bypass heading south.

He was advising all residents of the province to wear masks, use hand sanitizer, wash hands and avoid large gatherings.

All unnecessary travel should be halted he said.

This was in response to the coronavirus outbreak in Samut Sakhon where more than 650 people have tested positive, most of them migrants from Myanmar.

In addition all seafood truck arrivals from the Singkhon pass border checkpoint with Myanmar are being met with men in protective suits for cleaning.

The situation remains unclear but such traffic could soon be halted.

A hotel representative said that calls had been coming in from people in Samut Sakhon worried about whether they would be allowed to come to Hua Hin.

A ban on travel remains an option being explored by the authorities as reaction to the outbreak continues apace.
