People in three sub-districts of Mae Ai district in Chiang Mai province have been placed under travel restrictions in the wake of a case of a 29 year old salon worker who tested positive for Covid-19 after travelling from there to Ayutthaya.

The woman left Thaton in the far north on a bus bound for Bangkok. In the Bang Pa-in area she alighted and went home on a motorcycle taxi. She then had a Covid test.

On the 19th her test came back positive though she was asymptomatic. She is now being treated in hospital.

Travel restrictions are now in place in Thaton, Malika and Mai Ai sub-districts.

People have been told to stay at home. If they have to travel they should contact the health authorities so that special measures can be activated.

Checkpoints are in place in the Mai Ai area.

Thailand needs to go on full lockdown for three weeks , before it gets out of hand .

It worked last time

how would the ASQ's make money then?

In case the flights are also blocked then those poor hotel  5/4 star owners will have nothing left to feed their hungry children. ????????????????

As shown in the last lock-down, the main concern wasnt money

i was kidding .

but those taking decisions have enough money already. they don't need to worry about the poor and the marginalized.

though lockdown at this moment is necessary and anyone with symptoms must be tested for free including the unwanted foreigners . leave apart the guidelines about contact with confirmed case etc ... just test anyone who reports with symptoms...
