Sounds like good old fashioned common sense. Give the American public more, and give less to the likes of Pakistan gender programs(whatever they even are, or why they are given $10 million in an American covid stimulus bill). I am seeing every poster so far hating this proposal by Trump, I ask is it possible for people to refuse the $2,000 cheques if they hate Trump? It should be an option.

Again, I felt the earth lurch on its axis just a bit as I agreed with this post.

All kidding aside, if he had done just a LITTLE more of this during his first term, he would have sailed smoothly into a second term. My son was the one to point out to me that Pakistani garbage. WHY the HELL do we need to give them $10 million for "gender bs?"

Mitch's stomach is turning and tied up in knots. Soom num naa Mitch!

'Let's do it!': Schumer, Pelosi say they are eager to pass $2,000 stimulus checks that Trump says he supports

  • Democratic leaders in Congress said Tuesday that they are ready to secure $2,000 stimulus checks, if only Republicans will go along.

  • Earlier in the day, President Donald Trump criticized the COVID-19 stimulus package passed by Congress, saying $600 stimulus checks were not enough.

  • "Democrats are ready to bring this to the Floor this week by unanimous consent. Let's do it!" said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

I quoted something similar to this above. But the problem is, at least if the news reports are correct, that getting that kind of amendment done now/soon would require "unanimous consent" in both houses of Congress... and it seems rather unlikely every single congressional Republican is likely to consent to that -- especially after they spent most of the past year pretty much fighting any substantial aid package.

Forgetting a credible link to back that improbable theory of yours? Trump is on record, and as per the CNN interview I just posted, of wanting to get the covid bill passed asap and way before the election, while Pelosi played politics and dragged it out. Read the Blitzer/Pelosi interview for starters if you want to understand what was happening.

Haven't you forgotten a slightly relevant factor otherwise known as the Senate Republicans?

Trump's stimulus proposal draws opposition from congressional Democrats and Republicans

A new $1.8 trillion economic stimulus proposal from the Trump administration drew criticism from congressional Democrats and Republicans on Saturday, diminishing hopes for a coronavirus relief deal before the Nov. 3 election.

Seeing as our income does not change a whit we recycled the last $2,400 to the local food bank in California and will do the same with whatever comes next.  We are doing just fine and lots of people back in the states are really hurting, especially the children.  Worth a thought, no?

You have a point. The money should have gone to the unemployed and those will low or reduced incomes. Including back payments so that they can afford to pay all those bills that have piled up. And their mortgages or rent. People whose income remained stable really don't need the cash Much better to target it at those who do.

Possibly the only thing he's ever said that I agree with. 600 dollars is too low. A last ditch effort to extract some "love" from the rats who are deserting his sinking ship. If Trump does not draw a prison term when he is out of office, I will be convinced that the system is rigged beyond repair.

As well, there are SO many additional insane pork barrel thefts. Something about $10 million for Pakistani gender bs? 45 called these additional thefts out. Similar to the broken watch, he's right once in four years.

Trump agreeing with the so called socialists. Who would have thought.

It's happening in many countries. The Australian conservative government brought in a stimulus package beyond the wildest dreams of any socialist. Payments started back in March, America seems to be a bit slow getting with the program.

It is called the Covid relief bill. It is an emergency measure to ensure Americans whose lives and livelihoods have been decimated by the CoronaVirus and lockdown responses enforced by the govt can feed and shelter themselves. So, it is entirely fair that reading the small print and learning many millions of American tax payers $ will be sent for some gender project in Pakistan caused some raised eyebrows. Unless of course, a gender project in Pakistan turns out to be critical for American's lives to return to normality once the virus dies out or herd immunity kicks in? But I doubt it.

So you dont agree with lindsay graham.

Just before the election, Trump was still braying about cutting Social Security and Medicare. He actually thinks it's some kind of welfare program.  The very essence of cluelessness.
