The European Union's Chief Brexit Negotiator was speaking at European Movement Ireland's European of the Year Award ceremony. Michel Barnier stated that Brexit did not trigger the end of the European Union as some people predicted but instead strengthen the unity within the trading bloc.

..and remember th current UK / EU trade deal only covers goods. 80% of UK GDP is services which are not covered. Hence the problems for musicians. Sevices also include finance, banking and intellectual properties. much of this needs free movement of labour which has ended.

We don’t care about moaning musicians. If they are any good they can get a visa. 

We do care about free movement of labour and the end of euro migration into U.K.

OPINION: Eurostar is a vital service for both France and the UK and should be saved

Eurostar is 10% owned by a British investment firm and 90% by French / Quebec companies, including 55% by state train company SNCF, so they can't expect much help from the UK - they got out in March 2015. Likewise, the "British" freight companies are owned in Germany and Sweden.
