No doubt it was an enticement during the courtship.

   Whether or not it was the prime consideration we'll probably never know.

   Years ago I married a Thai nurse twelve years my junior. I paid no sin-sot because it is not a custom where I come from. That news was graciously received by all, considering I was enjoying several "marriage portions", the most useful and appreciated being total health coverage - including meds - from her gov't job in a state hospital.

   So I can understand if this youngish guy saw his main chance and took it.
