He passed on Sept. 7th, '03. Zevon wrote this for his final album, The Wind, recorded in '02 and released in '03. Perhaps it was played at his own funeral. Funerals are actually a good time to rejoice, truth be known. Death = new life,. Or rather just a continuation of eternal life. Granted with a necessary change of form. June 29, 1975) kid, Jeff, recorded in '94 from his only complete LP, Grace, due to his early demise (d. May 29, 1997). Like father like son, though Jeff surpassed his pop by four years. This song is an absolute must for anyone's music collection. And Hallelujah, this theme has passed from this thread as well (d. February 15, 2021), never to be seen again unless a miraculous Resurrection will prove beyond the shadow of the grave that blessed earthly existence is indeed eternal in yet another form for yet another life. Just found what is perhaps the best version of Biko and it seems to have been released very, very recently. The date on the YT upload is two days ago, the 13th Feb. 2021. As Rolling Stone's published article dated yesterday, Valentine's Day, explains: Peter Gabriel has re-recorded his 1980 protest classic “Biko” with help from 25 musicians from around the globe, including Beninese vocalist and activist Angélique Kidjo, Yo-Yo Ma, the Cape Town Ensemble, Sebastian Robertson, and bassist Meshell Ndegeocello. The video was produced by Sebastian Robertson and Mark Johnson as part of Playing for Change’s Song Around the World initiative. An extremely powerful version indeed! Enjoy at an elevated volume.
