Three districts in Bangkok were declared maximum control zones on Friday after Thailand recorded 279 new cases of Covid-19 and two deaths – one in the capital.

Nong Kheam, Bang Plad and Bang Khun Thian districts were placed under maximum controls, said Bangkok Metropolitan Authority (BMA) spokesman Pongsakorn Kwanmuang.

Meanwhile, the closure of Bangkok public schools has been extended for another two weeks until January 17.

The Bangkok Communicable Disease Prevention Committee has ordered the following venues to close across the whole city from Saturday: schools, children's playgrounds, tutorial centres, nurseries, water theme parks, parks, game kiosks, snooker halls, cockfighting rings, bullfighting rings, amulet centres, tattoo shops, internet cafes, martial arts schools, boxing rings, massage parlours, and banquet rooms.

On Saturday, the BMA will meet with the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration to discuss its plan to ban eat-in food services at shops and restaurants. This measure is expected to be imposed from Monday (January 4), meaning only take-home food will be available.

Cock fighting is on TV  in Thailand. For those who don't know or are not worldly wise, or seen the godfather or read Hemingway  It's male chickens fighting. A traditional sport in many countries and legal. Cock fights are held illegally in other countries.

So, bars that serve food are still open?

Yes everyone with restaurant license. Malls, Cinema's and Chatuchak are all open.
Chonburi (Pattaya) overturned restriction on dine-in yesterday. It seems like there is a lot of pushback as these sectors have already been badly hit and another shutdown would cause utter devastation economically especially as the government has no plans of pulling their wallet to support people financially. Only people under SSO will receive up to 15,000 baht up to 90 days.

I don't see any mention in the OP that bars that don't have a food license need to close in Bangkok

If this no dine-in restaurant service policy comes to pass for Bangkok come Monday, it won't be the news I was hoping for... But once the government starts banning and closing all kinds of other activities where people may come into close contact with others, it does make sense.

After all, kinda hard to wear your mask while sitting at an indoors restaurant table opposite other maskless folks and with everyone else nearby at adjoining tables doing the same.

Well at least they haven't decided that you have to eat a Scotch egg with every pint! Be grateful for small mercies, lol.

I was doing a pickled egg or pickled onion per pint when I lived in Bangkok but never saw any Scotch eggs? Where can these culinary delicacies be found?
