Ex-Patrons of Washington Square: Where do you drink now?

I was wondering where ex-patrons of Washington Square drink now?

Anything Washington-esque or is it all history?

I understand many of the patrons will have passed on, but still.... anywhere I can go for a drink to bring back nostalgic memories?

Much appreciated. Cheers.

I never drank there, but had some food there and some fun there... there was no place like it then and I would doubt that there would be a re-creation of it anywhere else now. Good memories. Plenty of characters.

As for me, I dine in Chiang Mai now...

I would’ve said Queens Park Plaza but that closed last year. There are various bars scattered around soi 22 and it’s sub-sois that have some connection to Washington Square but that’s about it.

Of course nobody’s drinking anywhere now due to this accursed virus.

Yes, its sad to see the old places  gone .Bourbon street was a great restaurant  /bar great food and cold beer run by the yank but he had to move out and has relocated.I had some great fun over the years  at the New Square One bar. It was pretty run down in the finish but the girls were great and Taffy the boss used to go home early and after that there no rules... if you know what I mean .Just fun fun fun.!! Oh those were the days.

@2009 Buddy's Bar and Grill on Sukhumvit 22 across the street from the Holiday Inn BKK Sukhumvit. I'm not sure about parking, but you shouldn't be driving after visiting there anyway (Last time I drove I used the Holiday Inn parking garage). There is a nice discreet alley that runs down the side off 22, which has a few more bars similar to the old Silver Dollar. I've never been to them, but a friend who was a Washington square regular highly recommends...

Buddy's Bar, I've been to and really enjoyed the outing. (I live well outside the city and don't get into town much anymore.)

No one mentioned yet Bobby's Arms located inside the parking lot next to Foodland on Patpong II with the saucy postcards in the Gents. A favourite hang out with BA crews - BA crews invariably hung out together as the pilots always went Dutch on the bills and didn't fleece the cabin crew! Also the Toby Jug on Sathorn, a first stop en-route to Patpong... Woodstock next to G Spot in Nana Plaza with the Larson cartoons on the toilet wall, as well as great Mexican food in the bar... Was it Pretty Lady, also in Nana Plaza that showed 1980s German 'soft porn' cartoons on the beat up TVs and far more entertaining than watching the girls on stage!

Bobby's Arms was the second place I had a drink at in Thailand, nice gaff. I was brand new here and could not get my head round the place so I asked an obvious regular if it was safe to walk around later on. His advice was "you can come out falling down drunk at 4 am and the worst that will happen is a taxi driver will cheat you. But they will do that anyway." Place has not changed much. At that time I was straight from 5 years in South Africa so Bangkok was confusing and one of the best surprises I have ever had.

Was a bit upmarket for me; used to drink outside Foodland before going to the bars. I remember coming out of Thermae when it was daylight. Now that was a great bar, the old and the new one.

A rather contradictory post Neeranam,

Bobby's Arms upmarket.? News to me. Drinking outside Foodland, are you trying to say you are/were a bit of a dosser?

Sadly I missed the heyday of Thermae.

Yeah, I was a hopeless drunk. Bottles of Chang, sitting outside Foodland; actually there was a regular crowd doing the same, some great, interesting blokes. Thermae was great, I remember my 30th birthday there, which was on the same day as Loy Krathong, 1995. I think it moved shortly after to where it is now.

There's a Bourbon Street at Ekkamai, not sure if it's the same one you're referring to but the food there is excellent...
