But Prawit said that there "aren't any illegal gambling dens in Bangkok". So there can't be any can there? Oh wait...

Surely he meant that "police are aware of and reaping the rewards of illegal gambling"?

city has over 10,000,000 people.  who knows, impossible to take a true census

1,000,000 houses, I have no idea.  I use the word "house" loosely

Let's say there are 3,000,000 rooms.   and maybe 400,000 non-livable spaces

so maybe they have to check 3,400,000 places.

sure, it's possible to do if you have 30-years with 10,000 employees.  lol

Does prostitution, graft, drunk driving, wearing of crash helmets etc., etc., etc.,  follow the same logic?

So you just report the illegal gambling den to the owners?? How's that going to help?

There are no illegal gambing dens in Bangkok, according to Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan.

Speaking to the media on Monday, DPM Prawit said that there are no gambling dens in Bangkok because gambling in Thailand is illegal, and the police are on top of such issues, Amarin TV reported.

He said that if anyone knows of any illegal gambling dens in Bangkok they must inform the police.

When asked about reports that a case in Bangkok was the result of the person being infected at an illegal gambling den, DPM Prawit said he had no idea how the person came to be infected.

People commenting on the story on social media largely ridiculed the deputy prime minister’s claims.

One social media user said: “How can he say this? If  you live in Bangkok, you know where there are places to gamble”

The news comes after illegal gambling dens have been thrown into the spotlight after an outbreak of coronavirus in Rayong was linked to a large gambling den. Infections from that cluster have spread to Chonburi, Pattaya and Bangkok.

Send him to an inactive post (as they do with the police).
